After a thirty two year career with Bonhams, and now in to his fifth decade as television's undisputed doyen of antique-related programming – Eric has assumed the same revered status as Arthur Negus and Henry Sandon before him.

David is the current curator of his family business which – over a century of industry-leading innovation – has established itself at the very top of the tree with regard to English crystal chandeliers from the 18th and 19th centuries.

In 1985 Jeroen joined his mother Trudy Markies at her shop Aspedistra in Sussex, selling silver, Victorian jewellery, and other items commonly found at a typical antique shop of that time.
Jeroen began by buying and selling silver and glass from the early-morning markets held in village halls around his home county. From there he soon developed a passion for the design in furniture, and started his own business Jeroen Markies Antiques dealing in 17th to late 19th century furniture.
At the turn of the century, Jeroen found a love for Art Deco with its fantastic modern lines and light decorative veneers and in 2005 he changed the name of the business to Jeroen Markies Art Deco to better reflect this new direction.
Today, Jeroen specialises in Art Deco furniture and sculpture, and decorative arts, selling pieces by Chiparus, Lorenzl and Preiss, furniture from the Epstein Brothers, Hille, Heal’s of London, and glass by Murano and Réne Lalique, as well as various other collectors’ pieces.
Richard has been cataloguing, studying, buying and selling antique clocks for more than forty years. His passion is for more unusual timepieces, movements, automata and related items. In 1975 he founded the antique clock and watch department at Bonhams in London, where he was responsible for the valuation and cataloguing of all relevant items.
He left the saleroom in 1992 to start his own business buying and selling antique clocks. Bringing his extensive experience to bear, Richard also undertakes all valuations, and handles all types of restoration and repair.
As a very highly respected horologist, Richard has been engaged as one of the specialists on the BBC TV’s Antiques Roadshow and he also lectures on many aspects of horology
He is another blue-chip addition to the Pantiles Arcade, and will offer both a platform for the sale of some treasured timepieces, and an enviable resource for information and advice with regard to any clocks and watches which you may be looking to have valued, repaired or sold.
The Pantiles Arcade will be providing a venue in which Grant will be displaying a curated selection of fine art works, all of which are to be offered for sale.

After dealing exclusively on-line for many years under the guise of Hope And Glory Vintage Collectables, Pete has grabbed the chance to take his place in The Pantiles Arcade and establish a physical presence in his home town.
The primary focus of Pete’s business is 20th century toys, games and collectables – with an inventory of items to which the vast majority of us can relate to closely. It can be a rather rude awakening to encounter something that you once owned as a child being offered for sale in the rarified atmosphere of an antiques emporium, as well as a reminder to be a little more discerning than may have been the case if you set about clearing out the attic !
As well as toys and games, Pete also specialises in badges, pennants and other ephemera relating to the Scouting and Guiding movements, and has many highly collectable items from the Britains, Dinky and Subbuteo catalogues.
Mark Hill
Mark is known for his dapper appearance and irrepressible style – along with an eclectic and acquisitive taste for antiques which encompasses a wide range of artefacts. He has perhaps the most contemporary taste of all the experts who are part of the Pantiles Arcade, harbouring an interest in pieces from the latter part of the 20th century such as Star Wars memorabilia and post-war Czech glassware which redefine what is considered desirable and collectable.
From abstract sculptural pieces to avant garde art prints, by way of gently erotic etchings of pancake-making nudes dating to France’s ‘Belle Époque’, you can be sure that Mark’s interests are a long way removed from the somewhat outmoded perception of antiques as items that should be dolefully regarded in dusty, silent rooms. As such his inspiration and verve will fit in perfectly with what’s being created and curated in our increasingly vibrant corner of Tunbridge Wells.
Jacob’s interest in antiques was fuelled by having spent his formative years shadowing his father, Jeroen, around auction houses and sales. His own interest in design and history meant that he developed a particular passion for 20th century furniture and decorative items, where the evolution of the antiques of tomorrow could be visualised and explored through near contemporary sources rather than via the timeworn manuscripts that – in part – document more ancient artefacts.
An introduction to The Pantiles Arcade opened Jacob’s eyes to the potential for the venue, and he’s eagerly embraced the opportunity to become a part of the exciting venture, hoping to become an integral part of its growth.
